Wonderful turn-out and fabulous food at Barker's Meze

Wonderful turn-out and fabulous food at Greek Meze with Barker.

Thank you to Robert Whitehead, for making 'Barker's Greek Meze' such a special occasion.

A huge thanks also goes to Committee members and special guests, and all those who helped to organise this event, particularly those responsible for the array of delicious food.

To everyone who attended, we hope you had a wonderful time.

Greek Meze with Barker

Greek Meze with Barker

On the 26 of May the Inland Branch of the MSSA will be hosting a Greek Meze for its members. Robert Whitehead (Barker Heyns in Isidingo) will be in attendance to sign autographs.  A letter from Evita Bezuidenhout to all MS sufferers will be auctioned at the event. Members of the Inland MSSA branch have been invited to write half a page of a coping mechanism that is useful for them for living with MS.  Some of these will be read out at the event.  What helps them to survive MS on a daily basis?

The event will be held at the Greek Orthodox Church Hall in Sophiatown, Johannesburg at 11 30 for twelve. All are welcome but RSVP is essential for catering purposes.

Please RSVP to ivan@multiplesclerosis.co.za. This venue is two blocks away from the MS house in Edward Street. The address is 81 Millar Street, Sophiatown. Entrance is at the corner of Edward and Gibson Streets in Sophiatown.

There are just 6 days to go....

With the campaign launch just around the corner, the World MS Day (WMSD) team can't wait to tell you all about it! Not only are activities taking place all over the world on WMSD itself (30th May) but we are also launching a public facing digital campaign in 5 languages on 9th May too.

For now it's all hush hush but stay tuned on facebook, youtube, vimeo, twitter, and of course this newsletter to find out more about the campaign and to help us raise awareness of MS around the world!

Here's what's happening in the world of MS this week...

Living with MS

What does living with MS mean to you?

We asked the 3,000 people who came through the MS life doors (a lifestyle event held in Manchester, UK) this year, to create a postcard that answered the question, What does living with MS mean to you?

We were surprised by the variety of different answers and inspired by the strong spirit of everyone that we spoke to. To see some of the postcards and to read more about the event visit the World MS Day blog.

World MS Day has been established by the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF) and its member MS societies for any individual, group and organisation to work together to raise awareness and end MS for good.

The Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF) was established in 1967 and is the world's only global network of MS organisations. Together we lead the global fight against MS and strive to improve the quality of life of people affected by MS around the world. www.msif.org
